Mimi Ratz Wiesenberg

Choreographer & General Manager of Mimi Ratz-Wiesenberg Dance Group.

Ratz W. got her B.A. Degree from The Graduate School and University Center N.Y. During that time she was also studying at the Nikolais/Louis Dance Theatre Lab. And at the Merce Cunningham Dance School, N.Y.

Ratz Wiesenberg was commissioned by the "Curtain Up/International Exposure Festival" to create new works at the Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance in Tel Aviv. These works include : "Massa Isha", "Eggs", "Delicate Balance" , "Herself" and "Stolen Moments".

Ratz W. has been consecutively commissioned by the " Upper Galilee Music Fastival" to create a new work for four years .These works include "Presto", "Keep the Light On" ,"Anna"s Adventures" ," Voices : Woman ,Man" and "Voices : Man , Woman ".

"Voices : Man , Woman" has been invited to Paris for a special festive event in honor of the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel.

Ratz W. was commissioned to create choreography for the play "Story"s Train" by Shalom Aleychem directed by Danon Rami, and for the play "Donkey"s Midsummer Night Dream" after Shakespeare directed by Vilojni at Tzavta in Tel Aviv.

Ratz was awarded fellowship by the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, U.S.A. and by the Tyrone Guthrie Center at Annaghmakerrig, Ireland .She was also awarded fellowship abroad by America Israel Cultural foundation.

Since 1981, Ratz-Wiesenberg is teaching dance improvisation and composition for dancers and actors in the Dance and Theatre Department, of Performing Arts in the Kibbutzim College of Education.

Ratz was invited to give workshops and lecture demonstrations at The Laban Center, and at the Middlesex University, London , as well as to Dance Departments in Colleges and High Schools all over Israel.

In 2007, Ratz-Wiesenberg was certified to work in the Ilan Lev Method. She is working, today, as an assistant in a training course for therapists in the Ilan Lev Method, and as a therapist in this method.
